Our Philosophy
At Viewpoints Counselling, we believe in the power of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Within this context it becomes possible to develop a stance of self-compassionate curiosity towards our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and enter down a path of healing, self-reflection and personal growth.
Our therapists work in an integrative way, blending together the most effective counselling theories and techniques to deliver you a therapeutic experience tailored specifically to your personal situation.
Our Space
We are located at 560 Johnson Street, on the second floor of Market Square in downtown Victoria, BC.
We aim to provide a comfortable, welcoming space for your appointments, as we believe our surroundings have a big impact on our overall experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your first session is a chance for you and your counsellor to get to know each other. You’ll talk about what brought you to counselling, what you hope to work on, and any questions you have about the process. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

Sessions are most commonly 50 minutes long. We do also offer 75 minute sessions for clients looking for longer appointments.

All of our therapists are available for in person, phone, or video appointments, depending on your preference.

No referral is required. You’re welcome to book directly with any of our counsellors.

Yes. All counsellors at Viewpoints Counselling are Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs), which meets the requirements for most extended health plans.

Many extended health benefit plans cover counselling with an RCC. We recommend checking your specific plan for details. We provide receipts that you can submit for reimbursement.

At this time none of our therapists work with couples, however we do offer support to individuals navigating problems and unhelpful patterns within their relationships.

This depends on your needs, goals, and availability. Many clients start with weekly or bi-weekly sessions, then adjust frequency over time. You can discuss this in more detail with your therapist during your first session.

Each counsellor has a unique style and specialization. You can read our counsellor profiles or reach out for guidance, we’re happy to help you find the right fit.

We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a late cancellation fee.

Yes, we offer counselling for teens (16+) and young adults. In some circumstances we may be able to offer counselling for younger clients, so feel free to reach out with questions.
